How hire works
Hire runs in calendar-day blocks of four or eight days, with extra days available where the fleet allows. It is arranged hire rather than a walk-up counter: we need at least 48 hours' notice, and you can book up to 6 months ahead.
Collection and return are from The SHAC, Buckland Park Lake. You tell us the times you would prefer and we confirm them with you. The hirer must be 18 or over, and equipment is for use in the UK unless we have agreed otherwise in writing beforehand.
Mostly used by paddlers around Surrey, Surrey Hills, Reigate, Dorking, Guildford, Crawley, Horsham, though once the boards are with you, you are free to take them anywhere in the UK for the hire period.

A refundable card hold may be taken against the hire and released after the return inspection. Standard hire terms apply, and the full terms are shown to you before you book.
Safety comes first
Board choice is matched to the paddler and the intended use. Hard race and surf boards are only released where they genuinely suit the paddler and where a suitable roof rack is available — they are not a beginner's board.
Leash set-up depends on where you are paddling: an ankle leash is not appropriate on rivers or other moving water, where a quick-release belt system may be supplied or recommended. We expect every paddler to wear a correctly fitting buoyancy aid — bring your own or hire one from us. The choice is yours to make, and we ask you to tell us which you have chosen.
Never paddled before? Private SUP sessions for complete beginners are a separate coaching service — coaching is not included with hire.
