First-hand experience
Trent 100 (historic)
A long-distance river challenge on the Trent, run in the earlier years of UK distance paddling. It has not run recently and may no longer be active, so treat it as past context rather than a current entry.
We are not aware of a current organiser page for this event. Please check its current status before planning around it.
Type
Challenge
Where
River Trent, England
Who it suits
Paddlers drawn to long river distance rather than short racing.
Sensible experience
Comfortable with many hours of continuous paddling, in a team or solo.
Equipment
Distance board, feeding and clothing planned for a full day on moving water.
Skip’s take — first-hand
I completed the Trent 100 as part of a team in the early years of the event. It taught me more about feeding, pacing and team logistics than any short race did. I do not believe it has run recently, so please check its current status before planning around it.
What makes it distinctive
Distance on a working river, done as a team effort rather than a race for places.
What preparation matters
Continuous distance work, feeding rehearsal and team logistics if paddling as a group.

How SHACADEMY can help you get ready
The same distance and challenge preparation as any long river objective — and the lessons from this one still apply to modern distance events.
Event dates, distances, classes, entry requirements and rules are set by organisers and change. Nothing here is an entry service, an endorsement or an affiliation — other than GLAGLA UK, which SHACADEMY co-founded. Always enter through the official organiser and read their current information before planning travel or training around an event.
