Skip’s take — first-hand

I have competed in GBSUP races and I rate the series. It is the most sensible structured way into UK racing — you get repetition, classes that let you start where you actually are, and a field that is used to newcomers. Racing is not my main focus, but this is the route I would point most people at first.

What makes it distinctive

Repetition. A series teaches racing faster than one-off events.

What preparation matters

Consistent training between rounds, plus starts and turns.

Sources & current information

Event dates, distances, classes, entry requirements and rules are set by organisers and change.
