Swimming & Open Water discovery

What are you trying to achieve?

A few short questions — two to four minutes — reviewed personally by Skip. This is the beginning of the coaching rather than a booking form: nothing is booked, paid for or confirmed here.

How it works

Your first session starts before we meet.

Tell Skip what you're trying to achieve, where you are now and what's getting in the way. He reviews it personally and uses it to plan the session around you.

The aim is to identify the things likely to make the biggest difference for you — not to work through a generic lesson plan.

You may only need one session.

In swimming and open water, relatively small changes to technique, breathing, judgement or confidence can sometimes make a substantial difference.

The first session is deliberately designed to stand on its own. Many people leave with enough understanding to practise and keep progressing independently.

If further coaching is genuinely useful, it costs less — the Discovery and planning have already been done. The aim isn't to maximise the number of sessions; it's to make the coaching useful.

Who is the coaching for?

Choosing this shows the pricing that would apply. It doesn’t book or charge anything.

Where you swim at the moment
Are you preparing for a particular swim, event, triathlon or challenge? (optional)
Where would you ideally like the coaching to happen?

Coaching remains subject to suitable access, permission, environment and operating conditions — nothing is assumed about a particular venue.

And how do we reach you?

Preferred way to be contacted

What happens next?

Skip personally reviews every coaching enquiry. He'll look at what you're trying to achieve and what you've shared, then come back to you to work out the most useful next step and, where appropriate, arrange the session.

Sending this doesn’t confirm a session. Sessions are arranged individually and remain subject to suitable venue, permissions and operating conditions.
